MEDICAL
AID FOR TSUNAMI VICTIMS
The
Tsunami that hit South Asia and Far East on December 26, 2004
claimed approximately 300,000 lives, injuring another 125,000
and displacing around 1.5 million people all over the affected
region. The death toll was expected to double as a result of
diseases and called for a massive humanitarian response.
This
called for an immediate action from the global community. MBL
stepped forward to lay a helping hand to the suffering
humanity by donating medicines and other supplies. These were
acknowledgement by the official of Sri Lankan government.
Every
business entity looks for more and more return but the return
one gets by helping others is priceless. MBL’s mission is to
bring more smiles and comfort to the people. At MBL, we
vow to continue with our mission and play our part to the
betterment of the global society.
HEALTH
INSURANCE
Business
Organizations seek to position themselves as socially
responsible but it should not be limited to stakeholders
outside the company. Employees are the most integral part of
any organization and they should be looked after at
professional as well as personal level. Apart from providing a
better workplace environment the company should also provide
health cover to its employees.
MBL
provides health cover to its employees through the Corporate
Health Insurance Policy. This policy provides services of a
large network of hospitals located throughout the
metropolitan, meaning easy access in time of need.
EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH
Boosting
the moral of employees through healthy competition is
essential for increased efficiency in their work.
“Employee
of the Month” certificate is awarded at managerial,
executive and officer levels. One employee from each cadre is
nominated as Best Employee for that month in recognition of
his/her efforts towards the growth of MBL. Along with the
certificate the employee is also presented a gift by the CEO
in a ceremony at the Head Office.
The
employee getting the most awards in a year is awarded the
Employee of the Year Award with a bonus salary of a month.
SCHOLARSHIPS
FOR DISADVANTAGED STUDENTS
More than
two-third of the human population is classified as under
privileged or the disadvantaged. It is thus the responsibility
of every individual and organization that has the capacity to
contribute in the development of the community where they
operate. MBL has been trying to do its part through donations
and scholarships to students and their institutes so that they
might overcome their financial barriers. MBL has patronized
few local institutes in Karachi where financial assistance is
provided from time to time.
